Jian Xu Laboratory

Postdoctoral Position Available in Functional Cancer Genomics

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jian Xu, at the Children’s Research Institute at UT Southwestern, to study the functional genomics of stem cells and cancer. Our laboratory focuses on the intersection of transcriptional control with stem cell biology, hematopoiesis and cancer. We employ epigenetics, functional genomics, genome editing, biochemistry and mouse genetics to define epigenetic and genetic programs that control blood stem cell development, and how these processes go awry in cancer progression. The Xu lab brings together enthusiastic scientists with diverse backgrounds and provides a wide range of perspectives in a multi-disciplinary and collaborative team setting.

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. with a strong background in molecular biology, genetics, biochemsitry or a related field. The ideal candidate will exhibit independence, flexibility and creativity, with a record of scientific productivity. Previous experience in epigenetics, cancer genomics, bioinformatics and/or mouse models is strongly preferred.

To apply, please submit a CV, a short summary of your research interest and experience, and a list of three references to:
