The Moody Foundation Flow Cytometry Facility

Data Management

Data transfer from instruments is the user’s responsibility.

The use of external drives (external hard drive, USB, etc.) is prohibited on facility computers. However, the facility provides a web-storage program at Cytobank for all users. Cytobank is a safe way to manage, search, backup, share and analyze your FCS files over the web.

A central back-up for data generated in the facility is also performed monthly for permanent archiving by the Flow Cytometry Facility staff.

Some fees might be applied if you are requesting the facility to retrieve data on this permanent archive.

All users must follow BSL-2 guidelines. No food or drinks are allowed in this room, and good laboratory practices must be followed. This means using personal protection equipment (gloves – available in the facility – lab coat), red containers for waste, and wiping down the work area after finishing. This applies to all users whether or not the samples are BSL-2, as the rooms can have multiple users at once. The proper cleaning of the analyzer is also required.

Failure to follow these guidelines can result in access being revoked.
